Our Journey

About Me:

My background is in Adult Nursing, specialising in Critical Care, where I developed a strong foundation in high-pressure decision making, emergency care and multidisciplinary teamwork. Over time, my passion and focus naturally evolved into sports medicine, team medicine, endurance events, pre-hospital care and youth athlete welfare.

Like many people entering the world of pitch-side medicine, I began with a strong understanding of performance environments and acute clinical care, but very limited hands-on experience within sport itself. By reaching out to local clubs, volunteering my time and learning from the incredible professionals around me, I gradually built the experience, relationships and opportunities that ultimately led to the creation of PitchSide Medical.

Throughout this journey I have been fortunate to work alongside outstanding clinicians, athletes, teams and organisations across the UK. My experience includes being part of the medical team supporting the Lands End to John O’Groats (LEJoG) challenge, providing medical cover for multiple ultra-endurance events, leading medical provision at rugby tournaments, supporting county rugby programmes, teaching with the RFU, working within schools and youth sport, and delivering concussion assessment, management and rehabilitation services. Every environment, event and person I have worked with has played a role in shaping both my career and the vision behind PitchSide Medical.

To further enhance the level of care provided through PitchSide Medical, I am currently undertaking an MSc in Physiotherapy. This additional training allows me to continue developing my clinical knowledge and rehabilitation expertise, helping both myself and the wider PSM team deliver a more complete and evidence-based service to athletes, schools and organisations.

As both a clinician and a parent of a sport-mad teenager, athlete welfare is something I care deeply about. One of my biggest motivations behind PitchSide Medical is helping clubs, schools and sporting organisations access high-quality medical provision while also highlighting areas where athlete care and safety standards can continue to improve.

The goal is simple: to help make sport safer, more professional and better supported for everyone involved.
